Pelican Pete by HH Photography of Florida.
He just looks like he should be named Pete. This handsome pelican was sitting on a pylon drying himself off in the afternoon Florida sunshine. After diving for fish in the local bay waters, he needed a rest and flew up on this perch right in front of me, almost as if to say, "Take my picture." The Brown Pelican is a beloved shore bird found along all coastal and often inland areas of Florida. Photo- graphed on the Florida Gulf coast.
