The Serenity Prayer, a source of inspiration, comfort and strength for many people over the years, continues as popular today as when it was first penned by Reinhold Niebuhr in the 1930’s. The prayer was adopted by Alcoholics Anonymous in the early 1940’s as well as other 12 step programs since then and seeks God’s help and guidance in handling the trials and tribulations of everyday life through acceptance, courage and wisdom.
