It’s mid-October in the Nantahala National Forest of the Appalachian highlands ... magic season ... or as some call it - autumn. With a chill in the air and the sun waning in the western sky, this view looks out over beautiful Lake Sequoyah in Highlands, NC. The lakeshore is lined with forest trees and flora, each wearing an explosion of the gorgeous colors of the season ... scarlet reds, oranges, browns, and yellows. A trip to these majestic mountains is always number one on our list of places to visit.
