Description
When I first saw this Florida Thatch Palm (Thrinax radiata) it looked to me like it was wearing a beautiful flowered skirt. The wispy yellow fronds actually hold the flowers or inflorescence. The seeds of this palm are eaten by deer, bats, armadillo and other small birds and animals. The USDA and the state of Florida have listed the Florida Thatch Palm as endangered.
