A Mallard duck (Anas platyrhynchos) Mom is teaching her new little one how to feed himself. Ducks are divided into 2 specific groups as far as how they feed themselves .. dabblers and divers. The Mallard is a dabbler and feeds by skimming it's food from the surface of the water or by "dipping" (basically standing on it's head) with it's head submerged and it's tail sticking up in the air. This little guy seems to have learned his lesson well.
