Description
Appalachian Highlands by HH Photography of Florida.
High in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, this stream runs downhill to the valley floor. The trees are beginning to lose some of their beautiful Autumn foliage as winter winds and cold temperatures envelop these Grandfather mountains ... a name given to them by the Cherokee who still reside in these beautiful, ancient mountains.
The GSMNP is the busiest National Park in the country with over 9,000,000 visitors a year - twice the number of any other park in the U. S. If you've never been to the Smoky Mountains, be sure to put it on your bucket list. No matter how many times you visit, this park will charm you and leave you wanting to come back for more. Photo taken outside of Cherokee, NC along U.S. 441.
