Description
The Master Of My Fate-Invictus by HH Photography of Florida.
Invictus is a poem that was written in 1875 by the English poet, William Ernest Henley. It encourages us to face our fate with fortitude and self-discipline when dealing with lifes adversities. Henley had lived a poor, impoverished childhood and had contracted tuberculosis which resulted in the amputation of one of his legs at the age of 26. He was told that the other leg would meet the same fate but after multiple surgeries, the leg was saved. It was while he was in the hospital recovering that he wrote Invictus.
These words of inspiration and challenge, motivation and optimism have been read and quoted by such men as Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama and by U.S. Prisoners of War in North Vietnamese prison camps during the Vietnam war. The poem continues to encourage many people around the world to this day.
The poem is shown on a black and smoky gray textured background with white lettering in vertical format.
