Description
The Docks of Cortez by HH Photography of Florida.
A scenic view looking through the palms at the fishing boats that are moored here at the docks in Cortez, Florida. It’s no surprise that this quaint fishing village on the Gulf coast is a favorite destination for tourists and locals alike. With much to see and do, one can spend the better part of the day wandering this historic area of Manatee County. Fresh seafood arrives daily from the nearby Gulf waters and is enjoyed at any of the fine eateries in the area. Fresh fish, crab, shrimp, oyster and more is on most menus in the village.
Cortez has not escaped Hollywood’s roving eye either as 4 movies have been filmed here ... the 1998 film epic, Great Expectations starring Robert DeNiro, Gweneth Paltrow and Ethan Hawke , the 2003 Denzel Washington thriller, Out of Time, the 1998 mystery thriller, Palmetto, starring Woody Harrelson and the 1984 drama, A Flash of Green, starring Ed Harris.

I love hidden gems like this. Another cool destination for our list of travel! I like how you capture a myriad of objects, lines and colors and yet none confuse or clutter. Well seen!

I don't think you'd be disappointed with a visit here, Matt. I love Cortez and hope it remains unchanged for many years to come.

Nice capture - these docks have improved a lot from the 50's and 60's when my grandfather used to take us down to Cortez to buy fresh catch right off the fishing boats.
HH Photography of Florida replied:
Thanks Terry. It's still the quaint, sleepy little fishing village you probably knew as a youngster. :)
