Number 1 in a series of 4 photographs showing some of the beautiful and dramatic thunderstorms that develop over Florida in the summer heat and humidity. This photo shows the storm moving into the Gulf of Mexico with it's torrential rains. Often times, these towering cumulonimbus become severe and most afternoons, a severe thunderstorm warning or tornado watch/warning has to be issued for these storms. There is something eerily beautiful about the black skies, the wind and blowing rain that accompany these storms but also quite exhilarating and adrenaline producing.
