Description
Short-billed Dowitcher by HH Photography of Florida.
On a sunny spring evening, an adult Short-billed Dowitcher (Limnodromus griseus) in breeding plumage is wading the shoreline of Tampa Bay in its search for dinner. These colorful and beautifully marked shorebirds are often seen scouring the waters of local coastlines, ponds and mud flats during their winter migration to Florida. They are on the conservation “watch” list because of declining populations.

Gosh, if that's the short-billed one, I'd hate to see the LONG-billed one! Nice catch, Helen; beautifully focused.
HH Photography of Florida replied:
Thank you Kathryn. Believe it or not, the Long-billed Dowitcher's beak is noticeably LONGer than the Short-billed but both are much longer than most birds beaks.
