Three red blossoms of the Seemannia purpurascens aka, Gloxinia purpurascens plant. A number of gesneriads are found in tropical climates around the world and some, like this one, are found in more temperate and mountainous areas such as the Andes mountains of South America. A beautiful and exotic bloom related to African violets. Photographed at a local botanical garden.
