Mallard Duck Preening by HH Photography of Florida.
A Mallard Duck (Anas platyrhynchos) is seen preening in the afternoon sunlight on a lake in west central Florida. The beautiful, colorful feathers are evident as he goes about his daily chore of preening and feather maintenance. I'm not sure if this is a Mallard hybrid or simply a juvenile Mallard drake.
