Jiggs Landing Sunset by HH Photography of Florida
Jiggs Landing Preserve and boat ramp is located on Evers Reservoir and the Braden River in eastern Manatee County, Florida. The land for this local landmark was purchased in 1944 by Al (Jiggs) and Agnes Metcalf and was in operation for more than 40 years before being bought by Manatee County. The facilities were recently renovated and continue to offer a host of recreational outdoor activities. Some of the offerings include a bait and tackle shop for the freshwater fisherman, canoeing and kayaking, picnic pavilions, wildlife viewing, a playground for the kids, a concession stand serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks and a boat/canoe/kayak launch are just a few of the amenities. There are also rental cabins available for those wanting to stay for more than a day of fishing on the river. Also a great place to view sunsets and sunrises.
