In the late afternoon sunlight, a commercial fishing boat piled high with nets, heads up the Intracoastal Waterway as it makes it’s way to home port in Cortez, Florida, after a day of trolling the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and nearby bays and inlets. Settled in the 1880’s, Cortez and it’s fishing industry is one of only several working commercial fishing ports remaining on the Florida Gulf coast. Under a cloud-filled sky, photographed from the shores of Anna Maria Island, Florida.
