A Man and His Dog by HH Photography of Florida / Original fine art photography.
The sun had gone to bed for the night and the sky was painted a delicate hue as I sat on a bench, enjoying the quiet that comes with the end of the day. I watched in silence as this man and his dog left the marina in their small skiff and headed out into the river. The dog was alert and on watch as he stood on the bow of the boat looking ahead towards the river. Did he know where he was going or was he standing guard? His anticipation was evident. As I sat there observing the scene, I began imagining all sorts of scenarios for these two. Was someone waiting for them at the other end ... where were they going and where had they been? Do they have only each other for companionship? Perhaps I'll never know their story but one thing I do know, There was a special bond between these two and I'm glad I got to see it, if only for a fleeting moment. Photographed in Palmetto, FL.
