Splish Splash by HH Photography of Florida.
"Splish Splash I was taking a bath, long about a Saturday night" ... It's so much fun to watch the pelicans when it's bath time ... an important part of their daily ritual. They flap their wings against the water with much gusto, dip and rinse and flap some more. After all this, they come out of the water where they fan their wings to get the excess water off and then the preening begins .. then more fanning and feather oiling. This can last for an hour or longer. It's a treat to observe and an endless source of entertainment to this observer. Photographed on the Florida west coast.
