The verse recorded by the Apostle Matthew in the New Testament, Matthew 6:34, is a quote from Jesus as He exhorts His followers, “Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of it’s own.”
First, it’s supremely presumptuous of us to believe that we will even be granted another day on this Earth. Second, do not worry or words to that effect, appear many times in Scripture so apparently Jesus was aware it was something that would plague His followers. As we all know, each day usually has enough problems, setbacks, disappointments and trouble to keep us busy and that worrying about what tomorrow may bring is a fruitless waste of time. Seize the “present” day and let tomorrow worry about itself. God knows our needs and will provide.
