A beautiful Brown Pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis) sitting on the dock, sunning himself in the warm afternoon sun. A familiar sight in the Florida landscape, the Brown Pelican is such a wonderful part of our surroundings and a frequently photographed bird by visitors and locals alike. They can always be found lounging around piers or docks or anywhere fishermen are cleaning their catch.
