An early morning view of the historic landmark, the Bridge Street pier in Bradenton Beach, Florida. The original wooden bridge to connect the Manatee County mainland to the island of Anna Maria, Florida, was built in 1927. In 1967, the old bridge was replaced by a new concrete bridge a little to the north of Bridge Street, at which time the old bridge was retired and turned into a fishing pier with restaurant. The pier has been rebuilt many times over the years because of destruction by hurricanes and tropical storms ... as recently as 2015. This photo is circa November 2012 but whatever the year, the pier continues to attract fishermen, out of towners and locals alike.
