The immense world of nature is full of so many wonderful things and this pretty pink lichen and epiphytes were a great find on our most recent trip to Myakka River State Park in Sarasota, FL. The park offers so much to see in the way of wildlife ... deer, wild boar, wild turkey, turtles, butterflies and insects, alligators ... lots of alligators and birds of all types, all in their natural habitat ... no cages or pens.
The flora is equally impressive with Florida wild orchids and other beautiful epiphytes, various wildflowers and grasses. It's a wonderful place to visit in all seasons and each brings its own set of conditions. You just never know what you'll find and that's part of the charm of this beautiful state park that keeps us returning again and again.
