Description
Golden Florida sea oats (Uniola paniculata) dancing in the summer afternoon breeze against a blue sky filled with white cumulus clouds. Sea oats, besides being aesthetically pleasing, provide important erosion control along all of Florida's many miles of coastline. They are a protected beach grass in the Sunshine State and throughout the southeastern Atlantic coastal communities. They are also a food source for many of our winged friends. Photographed on the beaches of the Florida Gulf coast. Beach Flora / Original Fine Art photography by HH Photography of Florida.

Excellent POV that nicely shows off the sea oats and grasses! They present a wonderful warm/cool contrast against that blue sky! L/F

Love those sea oats! The only time I tried picking some, thinking to make a dried arrangement, I was stopped short by the ranger. Hadn't realized they were protected... :(

Thank you, Kathy. Oh yeah, the shore/beach/ranger patrol will let you know in a hurry not to pick or even walk through the sea oats. :)
