This gallery is dedicated to photography taken at Myakka River State Park in eastern Sarasota County and southeastern Manatee County, Florida. The park is 37,000 acres of pristine wilderness wetlands, prairies, hammocks and pine forests and is a natural habitat for many of Florida’s wildlife species. A wide variety of birds, including Osprey, Roseate Spoonbills, Ibis, Red-shouldered Hawks and Limpkins can be found here. Wild boar, deer, wild turkey and an abundance of alligators also inhabit the area. It is one of the largest and oldest state parks in Florida.
